THE RANDY YAMADA FOUNDATION

Probation Officers Helping Each Other!

Since its inception in 2013 The Randy Yamada Foundation has donated over $45,000 to officers in their greatest time of need. These donation have included monies to fallen local police and sheriff officers, fallen probation officers in throughout the State, and we provide monetary help to active Sacramento Probation Officers who are going through a hardship. These probation officers sacrifice for our community and we appreciate the communities support.

Creating a Benevolent Fund for Sacramento County Probation Officers

In 2012, Sacramento County Probation Association (SCPA) Executive Officers Timothy Sowards and Greg Stuber approached the Sacramento County Probation Association Board of Directors with the ideal of creating a benevolent fund for Sacramento County Probation Officers, with the goal of extending the fund over time to probation officers statewide. With their underling philosophy of training and officer safety there was no better person who embodied that philosophy than Retired Sr. DPO Randy Yamada. The SCPA Board unanimously agreed and supported the creation of the Randy Yamada Foundation.

Providing Educational Support to all Family Members.

In 2018 the RYF Board of Directors was proud to honor and celebrate the life of McKenna Lee Hollar. McKenna was the true catapult behind the creation of the RYF and therefore she has directly contributed to the countless number of positive impacts the RYF has had upon Probation Officers Statewide. Her positive impacts upon Probation Officers will continue to be felt forever through the RYF as we continue to grow.
